On that note, today marked my fifth day of geeked out adventure as I spent many an hour online playing Final Fantasy XI. I have to say, this game, as cool as it is, is about the apogee of nerddom. It consists of all the glaive-power of multiplayer online gaming, and the traditionally nerdy concept of console RPGs, complete with the über-geekdom of an Everquest-based interface...not to mention its trace roots in Dungeons and Dragons, just like any computer RPG.
So what has been happening in my game? Well, see, I'll share with you all. I am a human warrior from the Kingdom of Bastok. I have been hard at work completing missions for the future of my country. This has included teaming up with other online fellows to battle big friggin lizards, whack turtly-birdy monster-men, and of course, the obligatory sandworms and earth elementals. Meanwhile my swordskill and parrying skills have vastly improved over the course of the last few days, and I have a "linkshell" chat going on with several guys-which is the FF XI equivalent of a CLAN.
So now that that's said...I think I should go to sleep. I work tomorrow, and then eventually return to the world of Vana'diel. Hopefully soon I can complete another mission for Cid and get my rank promoted. Until next time...
I will be nerding out in full effect.
Nerd...out.
Peace.
Out.
